Job Title: Structural Welder (Pulse Arc)
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Structural Welder with expertise in Pulse Arc welding to join our team. This role requires a minimum of four years of experience in a naval shipyard or similar environment, focusing on first-class welding techniques.
Responsibilities
+ Perform multi-pass, all position fillet, and butt welds using SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, and GMAW-P processes.
+ Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations specific to the shipbuilding industry.
+ Execute Air Carbon Arc Gouging techniques effectively.
+ Utilize fillet and butt weld gauges accurately.
+ Pass all position, multi-pass butt weld qualification tests in compliance with MIL-STD-248D.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, and GMAW-P welding processes.
+ Strong understanding of OSHA regulations in the shipbuilding industry.
+ Capability to work in physically demanding environments, including shipboard and sub-assemblies.
+ Ability to climb ladders and work in confined spaces.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Welding qualification tests in accordance with MIL-STD-248D.
+ Experience in Carbon Arc Gouging.

Work Environment
The work environment is physically demanding and requires the ability to work in confined spaces on naval ships as well as in a shop setting. The role involves climbing ladders and stairs regularly.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Newport News, Virginia.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $45.00/hr.
