Job Title: Assembler

Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Assembler to join our production team. As an Assembler, you will be responsible for constructing mattress foundations, bed frames, and furniture components according to company specifications and quality standards. This role requires manual dexterity, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

+ Assemble mattress and furniture components using hand tools, power tools, and assembly equipment.

+ Read and follow blueprints, diagrams, and work orders to ensure accurate assembly.

+ Inspect parts and finished products for defects and ensure quality standards are met.

+ Perform basic measurements and adjustments to ensure proper fit and alignment.

+ Maintain a clean and organized work area.

+ Report any material shortages, equipment issues, or quality concerns to the supervisor.

+ Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate protective gear.

+ Assist with packaging and preparing finished products for shipment as needed.

Essential Skills

+ 1+ year experience in construction, home remodeling, mechanical assembly, production line assembly, pre-fab construction, or a related field.

+ Basic knowledge of power tool operation.

+ Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.

+ Attention to detail and ability to work overtime.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Previous experience in manufacturing or assembly preferred.

+ Ability to read and interpret assembly instructions and diagrams.

+ Basic math and measurement skills.

+ Good hand-eye coordination and physical stamina.

+ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

+ Team-oriented with a strong work ethic.

Work Environment

The work environment consists of a manufacturing floor setting with exposure to noise from sewing and quilting machines. The role involves physically demanding tasks such as standing for long periods, bending, and lifting heavy materials. You will work in a fast-paced production environment with strict safety and quality standards. The schedule is Monday to Thursday from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, with potential overtime on Fridays from 7:00 am to 12:00 pm or 5:30 pm. Temperature may vary depending on facility conditions. Employees are required to wear steel toe boots, jeans or work pants (no sweat pants or joggers), and a short sleeve or long sleeve t-shirt. Additional PPE will be provided and must be worn at all times.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Guilderland Center, New York.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
