The Associate Manager, Contracts, will report to the Senior Manager, Contracts, and will focus on trafficking, drafting, vetting, and negotiating acquisition contracts, licenses (including master license agreements) and corresponding amendments and addenda for S&S’s Audio division. This role includes daily tracking of contracts from initiation to execution and responding to rights and other contractual inquiries from the Audio Division and other in-house departments. Experience working with audio publishing agreements and/or audio licenses is preferable but not required.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Draft, review, and negotiate audio acquisition contracts and related licenses.
+ Draft corresponding addenda. Advise on in-house precedent and respond to requests from inside and outside the company.
+ Gather and organize audio files and register audio editions for copyright with the Library of Congress.
+ Track contracts from initiation to execution and manage status charts.
+ Learn and use in-house systems effectively.
+ Research company physical and digital contract files.
+ Provide support to the Contracts department with additional needs and projects.
Qualifications:
+ Minimum of three to five years of relevant experience working with contracts at a publishing company and/or a literary agency.
+ Experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating publishing agreements, licensing agreements, amendments, and work-for-hire agreements.
+ Strong attention to detail and ability to adapt in a fast-paced and growing environment.
+ Willingness to learn and specialize in two or more responsibilities with nominal assistance.
Skills:
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Strong organizational and time management skills.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
+ Proficiency in using contract management systems and other relevant software.
+ Familiarity with audio acquisition contracts and licenses is preferable but not required.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
