    Job Overview:

    The Central Verifications Office Manager reports to the Assistant Vice President of System Medical Affairs. Under limited supervision, the Manager oversees the operations of the RWJBarnabas Health Centralized Verification Office to develop, manage and monitor processes and procedures that support the credentialing, re-credentialing, and expirables data management processes.

     

    The CVO Manager is responsible for supervision of credentialing specialists supporting CVO activities and will manage daily operations, establish performance standards, and incorporate continuous process improvement when necessary to ensure efficiency and accuracy of credentialing related activities. This position will manage credentialing operations for the CVO with a focus on supporting and ensuring best-practice, efficient, and cost-effective credentialing across the organization. These activities will promote systems and increase provider satisfaction through the establishment of streamlined processes.

    Qualifications

    Required:

    + Bachelors degree in healthcare administration or other related field or a combination of equivalent education, training and experience

    + Demonstrates excellent communication and writing skills

    + Well organized, flexible and prefers the challenges of supporting diverse teams

    + Knowledge of state and regulatory requirements

    + Knowledge of medical terminology

    + Solid experience with credentialing database

    Preferred:

    + Certified Professional in Medical Staff Management or Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist certification preferred

    + Minimum 10 years of experience in the medical services field,

    + Minimum 5 years of experience, including oversight of credentialing and privileging activities

    + Prior experience with MDStaff database preferred

    Essential Functions:

    + Operational -Accountable for oversight of CVO activities related to the sending, receiving and processing of credentialing applications, collection of primary source verifications, evaluation of information obtained via primary source, and ongoing maintenance of provider credentialing records

    + PerformanceManagement -Participates in quality assessment and improvement activities, identifies opportunities to improve services, makes recommendations, and implements actions as appropriate and consistent with the goals of the organization; Creates and updates dashboards and reports to monitor departmental performance as it pertains to key performance indicators including turnaround times for processing of credentials applications, with continued focus on delivery of a high-quality product, with the greatest efficiency, in the least amount of time,

    + Communication andCollaboration -Develop and cultivate working relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external, to ensure appropriate awareness of key issues and decision-making; Implement tools and policies to support knowledge management, record-keeping, and internal and external communication; Provides on-site consultations across RWJBarnabas Health with regards to credentialing practices and services; prepares and conducts credentialing orientations and provides updates as appropriate on new policies and procedures; Exhibit confidence and professional diplomacy while identifying, organizing, facilitating and/or sustaining mutually beneficial partnerships and alliances with people at all levels internally and externally; Demonstrates an understanding of the interrelationships, roles, decision-makers, and responsibilities of the organization

    + Management -Maintains responsibility for recruitment of, and supervision of, qualified staff in support of departmental operations and functions

    + Demonstrates the ability to successfully manage direct reports within a hybrid work environment; Fosters a team-dynamic and supports ongoing collaboration between employees across the hybrid workforce; Provides ongoing professional development opportunities to ensure continuous education for departmental personnel throughout the year

    + Compliance -Assists medical staff professionals across the RWJBarnabas Health System in preparing for participation in surveys and audits by regulatory and accreditation agencies or organizations; Updates applicable departmental policies and procedures to support and direct organizational practices and ensure compliance,
