Overview
The Proposal Specialist shall be responsible for actively leading the RFP process in the development of strategic sales and marketing proposals. The Proposal Specialist will manage the relationship with internal clients, subject matter experts, and outside vendors (i.e. proposal tool vendor) as applicable, and will be responsible for auditing and coordinating updates to the RFP database. The Proposal Specialist will support the development of the RFP tracker report, including analysis. They will work collaboratively with Sales management to understand sales strategy and with subject matter experts to align responses in accordance with sales strategy and corporate objectives. The Proposal Specialist will work on marketing initiatives as requested by Marketing leadership in addition to proposals. The Proposal Specialist will ensure proposals and marketing initiatives are implemented with a consistent and coordinated message that supports the brand and meets goals and objectives.
Qualifications
+ High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
+ Four (4) years of experience in marketing, sales, product management or comparable project management experience required.
+ Knowledge of self-funded and fully insured health products. Thorough understanding and knowledge of Independent Health product portfolio a plus.
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to problem solve, communicate and deal effectively with all levels of management. Critical thinking, writing and editing experience preferred.
+ Exemplary organizational, time management and interpersonal abilities with attention to detail a must. Ability to work independently.
+ Ability to independently work with RFP coordinators assisting in the management of the RFP process from start to finish while under strict deadlines and decision-making skills commensurate with position responsibilities.
+ Ability to coordinate and facilitate work in a team atmosphere and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
+ Exhibit initiative, creativity and self-motivation.
+ Proficient in computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) required.
+ Maintain knowledge and understanding of the company’s evolving product offerings, programs, and marketing strategies.

Essential Accountabilities
+ Participate in the development and maintenance of the internal process. Initiate, manage, and monitor the development of custom and creative responses with a consistent and coordinated message that supports the brand and meets goals and objectives. Identify, assess, and communicate gaps in RFP requirements and capabilities to appropriate stakeholders. Develop and implement ongoing training on the process as necessary.
+ Conduct business and quality reviews of proposal documents and ensure conformity with marketing and sales strategies and corporate brand standards.
+ Participate in the development of strategic marketing plans in support of sales goals as well as make recommendations for changes/updates related to changing market conditions and company objectives.
+ Ongoing maintenance of the proposal database including completion of the annual audit process. Periodic updates of statistical data and design and streamlining of the retrieval and response process.
+ Collect, maintain and report on specific proposal performance data for management review. Interpret data, analyze trends and make actionable recommendations based on findings.
+ Support the marketing department with various marketing tactics throughout the year as determined by Marketing leadership.
+ Demonstrate the ability to seek first to understand, then to interpret and critique complex and sometimes disparate information, while presenting ideas in their simplest form. Ability to communicate to all levels of management.
+ Strive for continuous improvement of marketing services and processes by providing input into the development of policies, procedures, objectives and strategies.
+ Research and analyze data relevant to the marketing function to assist in the development of marketing materials.
+ Continue to maintain knowledge of health care industry and marketing field.
+ Provide other marketing communications support as necessary.

Hiring Compensation Range: $27.50 - $32.50 hourly
_Compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to skills, education, location and experience._
In addition to base compensation, associates may be eligible for a scorecard incentive, full range of benefits and generous paid time off. The base salary range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
