Job Description
The Accountant is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial records, and supporting the preparation of financial statements. This role plays a key part in maintaining compliance with accounting standards and supporting the company’s financial health.
Responsibilities
+ Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger accounts.
+ Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
+ Process accounts payable and receivable, including invoice processing and payment tracking.
+ Reconcile accounts receivable and resolve discrepancies.
+ Perform bank reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies.
+ Reconcile credit card transactions and revenue accounts.
+ Ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP, and regulatory requirements.
+ Support audits and provide necessary documentation.
+ Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and implement best practices.
Essential Skills
+ 5+ years' experience in accounting
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
+ Proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel (including pivot tables and VLookups)
+ Strong organization, oral and written communication skills
+ Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines
+ Experience with accounting software and general ledgers
+ Analytical skills with particular attention to detail
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with Bill.com (not required)
+ GovCon experience and knowledge of regulations
+ Experience with joint ventures
+ Experience in billing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
Work Environment
The company has around 50 employees, and this role is part of a small team of two, with the other person in a bookkeeper function. You will report directly to the CEO and work closely with a consultant CFO. The work environment is dynamic and provides opportunities for collaboration. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.06 - $40.87/hr.
