    Job Title: Billing Specialist Job Description

     

    The Billing Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day billing and customer setup processes for all accounts within their assigned portfolio. This role involves meeting targets and deadlines for invoices, credits, rebills, and customer setups. The specialist ensures that all billing requirements are met before invoices are finalized.

    Responsibilities

    + Manage billing processes and customer setups for assigned accounts.

    + Ensure invoices, credits, and rebills meet billing requirements before distribution.

    + Act as the final quality check for invoices, understanding payment terms and holding team members accountable.

    + Engage with service centers to maintain and enforce company billing standards.

    + Support a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, particularly during month-end close.

    + Navigate and work within multiple ERP systems to manage billing tasks.

    Essential Skills

    + At least two years of experience in a billing role.

    + Proficiency in billing management, billing research, and invoice analysis.

    + Experience working in a fast-paced environment with multiple ERP systems.

    + Understanding of accounts receivable processes.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Associate Degree preferred.

    + Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

    Work Environment

    The role involves handling a portfolio of locations for invoicing, without the need to prepare invoices, as this is managed by the service center. The environment is sales-focused, requiring 'clean up' work to ensure billing standards are met. The specialist must allocate resources across service centers, handling varying volumes of billing. The work environment includes working with several ERP systems, with a heavy workload, especially at month-end. Lunch breaks are structured between 11 am and 2 pm, with different durations depending on the work schedule. The position requires clocking in and out for lunch breaks and maintaining punctuality.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Greenville, South Carolina.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr.
