Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior PLM/CPQ Solutions Architect to lead the design, development, and implementation of our Teamcenter PLM and Rulestream CPQ solutions. This role involves translating business requirements into a robust architectural blueprint, guiding development teams, and ensuring seamless integration of PLM/CPQ systems with enterprise applications. It requires a combination of deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and strong leadership.
Responsibilities
Requirement Analysis & Solution Design
+ Translate business requirements into an architectural blueprint for Teamcenter and Rulestream solutions.
+ Coordinate with stakeholders to gather requirements and define future-state business processes.
+ Map requirements to the Teamcenter PLM framework, prioritizing out-of-the-box functionality to minimize customization.
+ Design PLM solutions in areas such as BOM structuring, engineering change management, CAD integration, and ERP integrations.
+ Develop migration and data conversion strategies from legacy systems.
+ Infrastructure Considerations:
+ Define system architecture topology including application servers, database servers, CAD integration servers, and file management servers.
+ Plan scalability, redundancy, and disaster recovery approaches for PLM/CPQ infrastructure.
+ Assess cloud vs. on-premises deployment models and recommend optimal solutions.
+ Specify network, storage, and performance requirements to ensure smooth system operation.
Design & Development
+ Configure the Teamcenter data model using BMIDE.
+ Customize Teamcenter using codeless (Configuration) and code-full (ITK, C/C++, Java, SOA) methods.
+ Set up modules including Workflows, Change Management, BOM Management, Product Structure, and Product Configurator.
+ Design and develop Rulestream data models using ETO Architect—define part families, properties, rules, and constraints.
+ Implement custom scripts (ITK, SOA) for data migration and reporting.
System Integration & Migration
+ Build integrations between Teamcenter and enterprise systems (ERP, BI dashboards) using SOA APIs, web services, and custom scripts.
+ Connect Teamcenter, Rulestream (CPQ), and CAD tools (e.g., SolidEdge) via REST APIs and model services.
+ Create migration scripts (PLMXML, TCXML, ITK, Java, Python) to transfer legacy data.
+ Administer and manage CAD integrations.
Build & Deployment
+ Deploy Teamcenter configuration packages (BMIDE, server customizations) across DEV, UAT, and PROD environments.
+ Manage code configuration in GIT or TFS.
+ Install and configure the complete Teamcenter environment: 2-Tier/4-Tier clients, Active Workspace, file management servers, and translation servers.
Additional Responsibilities
+ Define and own solution architecture for complex, high-impact projects across multiple domains.
+ Drive technology strategy, architectural governance, and innovation initiatives.
+ Partner with executive stakeholders to understand business goals and translate them into technical vision.
+ Lead architectural reviews, risk assessments, and mitigation planning.
+ Influence enterprise standards, reference architectures, and architecture blueprints.
+ Coach and develop a team of architects and technical leads.
+ Conduct performance tuning and optimization of Teamcenter environments to ensure high availability and responsiveness.
+ Define and enforce Teamcenter security policies, including user access control, role-based permissions, and data protection.
+ Lead upgrade and patching strategies for Teamcenter, ensuring minimal downtime and risk.
+ Provide technical mentorship and training to junior PLM developers and administrators.
+ Collaborate with vendors and support teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex Teamcenter issues.
+ Evaluate and recommend emerging PLM technologies and best practices to enhance system capabilities.
Qualifications
+ Education Requirement: Bachelors Degree
+ Teamcenter Expertise: 12+ years of in-depth knowledge of Teamcenter UA, including Workflow, Structure Manager, and Access Manager; strong experience in architecture, data modeling, and customization.
+ Programming & Customization: Advanced skills in C/C++, Java, ITK, and SOA for both client and server-side customization.
+ Rulestream Expertise: 5+ years with Rulestream architecture, part family design, rules and constraints, and custom integrations.
+ Integration: Proven track record integrating PLM/CPQ with ERP and CAD systems.
+ Web & Database: Proficient in HTML, DHTML, JavaScript, and SQL scripting.
+ System Administration: Skilled in installation, configuration, and administration of RAC, Thin Client, and Active Workspace environments (2-Tier and 4-Tier).
