Job Summary
We are seeking a strategic and data-driven Director, Catalog to lead the development and execution of our applications research strategy that supports new product development, ultimately supporting the creation, maintenance, and distribution of our automotive aftermarket product catalog. Thie ideal candidate brings deep industry expertise, a strong command of vehicle data, and a proven ability to drive operational excellence through data governance, cross-functional collaboration and continuous improvements.
Primary Duties
+ Lead the applications research strategy across the North American organization (US, Canada, and Mexico) with an immediate focus on supporting the Product Management team while leveraging engineering knowledge to provide and interpret OE data (research, interchange, carry up, etc), which drives new product development and is easily searchable in customer systems
+ Maintain deep expertise in industry data standards, including ACES and PIES, and ensure all catalog data complies with these standards to meet internal and external requirements
+ Able to interpret OE mechanical drawings, CAD models, and engineering specifications to validate catalog accuracy, part interchange, and fitment applicability across diverse vehicle systems.
+ Apply mechanical engineering principles to help confirm that cataloged components meet design intent and functional requirements before commercialization.
+ Collaborate with product and engineering teams to troubleshoot mechanical compatibility issues and ensure catalog data aligns with real-world performance.
+ Evaluate and translate complex engineering changes (e.g., design revisions, supersessions, carry-up/carry-down analysis) into precise catalog applications that support product launch and aftermarket serviceability.
+ Ability to develop a strategy to support aggressive global company growth goals and the organization of team required to support
+ Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Management, Engineering, Master Data, and Content Syndication teams to deliver accurate, high-quality product data that supports commercialization efforts and enhances customer experience across platforms while also ensuring data accurately reflects product design, specifications and fitment requirements. Provide technical expertise to validate data integrity and application accuracy.
+ Partner with internal stakeholders to identify and implement scalable solutions to centralize and enhance product data systems to support internal and external systems
+ Define and monitor team metrics to optimize resource allocation, track productivity, and drive continuous improvement
+ Provide strong leadership to contributors for professional development, ensuring team has clear career path goals and have tools in place to achieve goals personally and for company
+ Stay updated on industry trends, vehicle updates and data standards to continuously improve overall process
+ Performs as liaison and key business contact with IT and Product Management related to any relevant catalog maintenance systems, collaborate to troubleshoot issues, documenting and communicating to appropriate stakeholders
+ Responsible for enhancing application data to improve product lookup success rates « Identify and implement processes to ensure keywords/aliases are available and maintained in internal and external systems. Identify tracking mechanisms to ensure data published is being utilized in account/trading partner systems.
+ Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
+ Demonstrated leadership experience managing high-performing catalog and data teams with a proven ability to influence and communicate cross functionally, both written and verbally, with key stakeholders including leadership
+ Expertise in catalog management software, tools and understanding of ACES and PIES
+ Strong problem solving and analytical skills to drive resolution around catalog related issues and develop strategy
+ In-depth knowledge of automative parts, fitment data and industry specific attributes
+ Knowledge of SQL programming and database management is required
+ Bilingual written/spoken in English and Spanish required; French-Canadian is a plus
Education / Experience
+ BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or alternate technical degree (preferred), with additional background or coursework in Business, Marketing, or Automotive fields preferred
+ Minimum of 8+ years with a deep expertise in catalog management systems, data governance, and industry standards including ACES, PIES, and PADB, with a track record of driving catalog strategy and innovation.
+ 8+ years of progressive experience in automotive aftermarket catalog management, including leadership roles and direct involvement with AutoCare standards and digital product data strategy
+ Proven experience overseeing catalog operations across North America, ensuring regional accuracy, compliance, and alignment with market-specific requirements
+ 5+ years of experience in leadership roles including leading departments, successfully managing cross-functional teams and implementing strategic decisions with measurable results
