West Central Georgia Regional Hospital is seeking candidates for the position of Licensed Practical Nurse for the New Hope Unit. This is a Fulltime position and is eligable for State Benefits. This position will work on a new forensic unit of up to 30 beds. Hours are 12 hour shifts.
+ Under broad supervision, provides general direct nursing care to injured, ill, convalescent or disabled individuals.
+ Care includes providing medical treatments, administering medication and giving injections.
+ Performs job responsibilities with minimal supervision.
+ Serves as job expert or organization resource in assigned areas.
+ Administers prescribed medications or starts intravenous fluids, and notes times and amounts on clients' charts.
+ Answers clients' calls and determines how to assist them.
+ Evaluates nursing intervention outcomes, conferring with other health-care team members as necessary.
+ Helps clients with bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene, moving in bed, and standing and walking.
+ Measures and records clients' vital signs, such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration.
+ Observes clients, charting and reporting changes in clients' conditions, such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment, and taking any necessary action.
+ Provides basic client care and treatments, such as dressing wounds, treating bedsores, giving enemas, douches, alcohol rubs, and massages, or performing catheterizations.
+ Records food and fluid intake and output. Supervises support staff.
+ Works as part of a health care team to assess client needs, plan and modify care and implement interventions

Employment Requirements

FOR THIS TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT, STATE LAW REQUIRES A NATIONAL AND STATE BACKGROUND CHECK AS A CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT.
High School diploma/GED and completion of a LPN Program through an approved Georgia Nursing Board; or Vocational/Technical degree from an accredited college and current Georgia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse and one (1) year of nursing experience; or one (1) year experience required at the lower-level Licensed Practical Nurse 2 (HCT031) or position equivalent.
