    THE POSITION

    Are you interested in playing a meaningful role in protecting public health and ensuring ethical practices? The Bureau of Enforcement and Investigation is looking for a detail-oriented Mortuary Inspector to join our Philadelphia Regional Office. This position allows you to utilize your extensive background to conduct physical inspections of funeral homes to determine compliance with the laws, rules, and regulations regarding the funeral profession.     DESCRIPTION OF WORK

    As a Mortuary Inspector, you will travel to inspection sites throughout the state to conduct periodic inspections of all funeral homes by observation and interviews, noting any deviation from established standards, and preparing inspection reports to communicate findings. While gathering evidence, issuing citations, preparing reports, and testifying at hearings, you will be required to maintain the confidentiality of identities and locations. You will have the opportunity to pose as a consumer in support of undercover investigations of alleged violations.

    Work Schedule and Additional Information:

    + Full-time employment

    + Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

    + Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

    + Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

    + Ten years of experience as a funeral director.

    Special Requirements:

    + You must possess an active license to practice as a funeral director issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Funeral Directors.

    Other Requirements:

    + This particular position also requires possession of a valid driver’s license which is not under suspension.
