The opportunity:

The IT Business Relationship Manager for HR Systems focuses on aligning Human Resources technology initiatives with business goals for a global workforce. This role requires the incumbent to be both strategically and technically adept and to serve as the primary liaison between our Human Resources (HR) function and IT organization. This role will focus on aligning HR technology initiatives\u2014particularly around Workday\u2014with business goals across a global workforce of over 100,000 employees, while also overseeing the technical service delivery of the Workday environment.

How you will impact Smurfit Westrock:

* Act as the trusted advisor and strategic partner to HR Group leadership, translating business needs into IT initiatives.

* Partner on the IT-HR engagement for Workday and other HR systems, ensuring optimal system performance, user experience, and business value.

* Own the technical service delivery of the Workday platform, including system availability, performance, integrations, upgrades, and incident resolution.

* Collaborate with HRIS, IT operations, and external vendors to ensure Workday is maintained and enhanced according to business and technical requirements.

* Support the HR technology roadmap, prioritizing initiatives based on business impact, feasibility, and alignment with enterprise architecture.

* Monitor and evaluate emerging HR technologies and trends to recommend innovative solutions.

* Manage stakeholder expectations, project timelines, and communication across global teams.

* Oversee and coordinate the full lifecycle of HR technology initiatives, from initial planning and development to implementation and ongoing support, ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of solutions that meet HR needs.

* Focus on identifying and communicating the business value and impact of IT services and solutions on HR performance, demonstrating how IT investments contribute to HR goals and organizational success.

* Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across HR, IT, and other relevant departments, facilitating effective communication and teamwork.

* Support and ensure adherence to IT governance policies and procedures for HR projects and applications, including participating in change management and risk mitigation activities.

What you need to succeed:

* Bachelor\u2019s degree in information technology, Business Administration, or related field; master\u2019s degree preferred.

* 7+ years of experience in IT or HR technology roles, with at least 3 years in a BRM or similar liaison role.

* Proven experience with Workday HCM, including modules such as Core HR, Talent, Compensation, and Reporting.

* Strong understanding of HR processes, global HR operations, and enterprise IT service delivery.

* Experience managing Workday integrations, system performance, and vendor relationships.

* Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.

* Familiarity with data analytics and reporting tools (e.g., Workday Prism, Power BI).

* Effective communicator, strong prioritization with execution focus, able to direct multiple teams to align and support parallel project deliverables.

* Passionate and demonstrates ability to drive continuous improvement innovation and develop talent.

* Enables and empowers, follows up to ensure high-quality execution.

* Demonstrate leadership skills and the ability to operate in a rapidly changing environment.

* Have sound analytical skills and the ability/willingness to make critical decisions in a timely manner.
