• Manufacturing Engineer

    Cabela's (Flippin, AR)


    _POSITION SUMMARY:_

    The Manufacturing Engineer will work out of the Ranger manufacturing plant in Flippin, AR and report directly to the Engineering Manager. This role is highly skilled, highly motivated and will work collaboratively with Manufacturing and Design in trouble shooting, problem solving and launching new products into manufacturing. This position must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision and needs to be familiar with various cad systems.

    _ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:_

    + Works with Manufacturing and Design to design New Product for The Internal Structure – PVC, Coosa, HDPE Plastics, Vinyl, and Carpet.

    + Identify problems and drive them to root cause solutions.

    + Establish and maintain production procedures to maintain high standards of manufacturing operations, product quality, reliability, and safety.

    + Work with manufacturing teams to ensure ease of assembly, adapt to lean methodology to improve quality and reduce waste.

    + Develops and implements manufacturing methods and techniques, such as Lean, Kanban, 5S, DFM and Poke-Yoke.

    + Plans future manufacturing programs to obtain maximum value from production resources such as personnel, equipment, machines and testing.

    + Maintain a safe and organized work environment.

    + Create and process Engineering Change Notes (ECN), and update process documentation.

    + Assists in the raw materials inventory accuracy.

    + Hands on approach to first run production trials and shop floor problem solving.

    + ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.

    _EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:_

    + Bachelor’s Degree in related field highly preferred (Mechanical/Industrial/Electrical/Manufacturing Engineering)

    + 3 – 5 years Engineering experience in a related industry (marine, automotive, recreational vehicle, aerospace)

    + Lean Six Sigma Certification is a plus

    _KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY_

    + Key Software / Programing knowledge in:

    + Solid works, Auto Cad, Water Jet Robotics, Digitizing,

    + Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

    + Ability to thrive in a fast-paced multi process facility

    + Ability to prioritize multiple competing priorities, meeting deadlines while delivering quality results.

    + Flexible with shifting priorities

    + Highly organized and detail oriented

    + Self – Starter and ability to work with minimal supervision on projects

    + Proactive in identifying and solving problems

    + A genuine belief in continuous improvement with a willingness to analyze, challenge and change processes as needed

    + Strong leadership experience with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    + Regular computer work, and sitting

    + Regular walking, standing, and lifting up to 50lbs

    + Develops objectives and general policies and procedures for a specific program or functional area of responsibility within general scope of established operational goals and plans. Day-to-day work and decisions do not require direction or review by immediate supervisor. End results are reviewed by supervisor.
