    Job Description Summary

    Leads projects and initiatives with broad scope and high impact to GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GVH) or is a recognized expert in the field of safety related instrumentation & control (I&C) systems. Responsible for major and complex assignments with long-term business implications. This role contributes to the overall strategy and manages complex issues within safety related instrumentation & control (I&C) embedded systems, design, architecture, hardware, software, and required interrelated technology solutions appropriate for each application and able to pass required regulatory standards in design, verification, and validation.

     

    The required work location is the GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy headquarters in Wilmington, NC (relocation assistance provided)

    Job Description

    Essential Responsibilities:

    + Recognized technical expert in safety related instrumentation & control (I&C) embedded systems, design, architecture, hardware, and software integrated solutions using modern and legacy technology, components or component systems, and provides consultation to management, all design organizations, and supplier organizations.

    + Remains cognizant of general knowledge of relevant nuclear regulatory endorsed safety related systems, inclusive of IEEE, IEC, ASME NQA-1 and other standards.

    + Provides technical leadership in design reviews, task force, industrial committees, and design boards as necessary.

    + Works closely with the Chief Consulting Engineer’s office and related consulting engineers across engineering for I&C systems application.

    + Provide technical consultation to assigned organization and to other internal and supplier engineering and manufacturing organizations.

    + Enhance technical excellence in assigned design organizations.

    + Identify and recommend where improvements in knowledge of the specific discipline are needed or where technical training is needed.

    + Establish a total quality management strategy to assure early involvement on manufacturing process/producibility matters.

    + Provide leadership to help focus and integrate new technology smoothly into production.

    + Suggest areas where technology advancements are needed and recommend approaches/programs to pursue.

    + Lead/support study teams to address top problems within the organization or projects in focused technical areas.

    + Consult with and support the Chief Engineer’s Office in the execution of technical goals of the office.

    Required Qualifications:

    + Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited college or university

    + At least 8 additional years of experience in an engineering capacity

    Eligibility:

    + The required work location is the GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy headquarters in Wilmington, NC (relocation assistance available)

    + This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government

    Desired Characteristics:

    + Master’s degree or PhD in an engineering or technical discipline preferred

    + Considered an expert in safety related I&C systems

    + Familiar with the GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy NUMAC product line design, functions, and applications in rod control, power range, and instrumentation control _._

    + Strong oral and written communication skills

    + Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

    + Leadership to pursue correct engineering process in adverse conditions

    + Able to interface effectively with all levels of the organization _._

    + Problem solving skills; Lean training/experience is preferred

     

    The base pay range for this position is $148,000 to $209,000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for bonuses, such as a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. This position is expected to close on Friday September 26th

     

    The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas.
