Description
This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and assisting with a wide variety of outdoor educational, environmental, and recreational programs at Caloosahatchee Regional Park.
Duties and Responsibilities
+ Plan, organize, and lead programs such as guided hikes, wet walks, kayaking excursions, campground activities, and special events.
+ Provide support across multiple areas, including ball field operations, summer specialty camps, and after-school Club Rec programs.
+ Manage reservations and rentals for campgrounds, pavilions, baseball fields, and programs using the online recreation system (RecTrac).
+ Handle collection, processing, and depositing of program and rental fees.
+ Create marketing materials such as program brochures, event flyers, and promotional content to advertise programs and classes.
+ Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise camp hosts; coordinate with volunteers; and work independently when needed.
+ Operate and maintain equipment such as mowers, blowers, and weed eaters.
+ Perform park maintenance, including trail upkeep, facility cleaning, equipment maintenance, mowing, pruning, watering, planting, trash collection, and general cleanup.
+ Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Education, Experience, Licensing
Required:
+ High school diploma or GED (or similar experience)
+ 6 months of experience working with large groups of school-age children
+ Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
+ First Aid and CPR certification (or willing to get it within 6 months)
Preferred:
+ 1 year of Parks and Recreation experience
+ 1 year of office experience (customer service, marketing, filing, making reports, etc.)
+ Bilingual in Spanish
+ Experience with RecTrac, Canva, and Microsoft Office
Supplemental Information
+ Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact with the public in a professional, courteous, and timely manner.
+ Basic mathematical skills to prepare and maintain records and reports.
+ Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, volunteers, and the public.
+ Effective verbal and written communication skills.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to operate standard office equipment.
+ Ability to safely operate grounds maintenance equipment such as mowers, blowers, and weed eaters.
+ Bilingual skills preferred.
The work days and hours may vary to include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
