This position plans, directs, and coordinates all aspects of the Pastoral Care Program at LCIW.

Minimum Qualifications

A bachelor's degree plus one year of experience in ministry or chaplaincy; OR

Certification received from Clinical Pastoral Education through the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE), National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC) or Canadian Association of Spiritual Care (CASC) plus one year of experience in ministry or chaplaincy; OR

Certification by the Louisiana Chaplain's Association plus one year of experience in ministry or chaplaincy.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:

Applicants must be ordained, commissioned, licensed, or endorsed by the appropriate faith group or denominational authority at the time of appointment.

NOTE:

Ecclesiastical endorsements must be from the official national endorsing authority of the applicant's/employee's faith group or denomination.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

+ Supervise all religious rehabilitative programs

+ Manage the LCIW chapel. Supervise chapel staff and volunteer chaplains.

+ Provide pastoral counseling, crisis, and marriage counseling, as well as rehabilitative services.

+ Current permanent status classified LA State employees may be required to accept a probational appointment if accepted.

+ An employee selected for a promotion may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted.

+ This posting may also be used to fill a vacancy as a temporary job appointment. If filled as a temporary job appointment, should a permanent position become available, the employee may be converted to a probational appointment.
