    Job Purpose & Scope

     

    The Residential Mortgage Closing Manager is responsible for coordinating, monitoring, and ensuring the timely and accurate completion of all mortgage loan closings. This role focuses on managing the end-to-end closing process. The Closing Manager serves as the central point of contact between loan officers, processors, underwriters, title companies, and borrowers to ensure regulatory compliance, data accuracy, and a smooth borrower experience.

     

    Essential Job Functions

     

    + Manage the mortgage loan closing pipeline to ensure all files are accurately prepared, approved, and scheduled for closing.

    + Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to confirm all documents are complete and accurate.

    + Monitor closing timelines to avoid delays, proactively resolving issues that could impact funding.

    + Review closing disclosures, settlement statements, and closing packages to confirm compliance with TRID, RESPA, and other regulatory requirements.

    + Ensure accuracy of fees, loan terms, and borrower information across all closing documents.

    + Verify that all required approvals, signatures, and conditions are met prior to closing.

    + Conduct final quality checks on closing files to identify errors, inconsistencies, or missing information.

    + Maintain closing checklists, policies, and procedures to ensure standardized processes and risk control.

    + Partner with compliance and QC teams to address audit findings or regulatory changes.

    + Serve as the point of contact for closing-related questions from loan officers and operations.

    + Collaborate with title partners to ensure a seamless borrower experience.

    + Identify process bottlenecks and recommend improvements for efficiency and accuracy.

    + Stay up to date with industry regulations, investor requirements, and best practices related to mortgage closings.

    + Develop ad hoc reports, as required.

    + Regularly exercises discretion and judgment in the performance of essential job functions.

    + Maintains good punctuality and attendance to work.

    + Follows Bank policy, procedures, and guidelines.

     

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

     

    + Knowledge of federal regulations related to lending.

    + Ability to prioritize work and manage time effectively.

    + Ability to demonstrate attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness in work product.

    + Ability to maintain focus and concentration in a fast-paced environment.

    + Ability to work without close supervision.

    + Ability to work well under pressure and with exacting deadlines.

    + Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

    + Ability to demonstrate effective organization, project management, critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

    + Ability to work evenings and weekends, as necessary.

    + Skill in using computer and Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

    Basic Qualifications

    + High school diploma or equivalent, bachelor’s degree, preferred.

    + Minimum of five (5) years of experience in closing residential mortgage loans, required.
