Industrial Maintenance Technician (1st Shift)

We're seeking a skilled and proactive Industrial Maintenance Technician to ensure our manufacturing facility runs like a well-oiled machine. This role demands expertise across multiple trades—electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry—and a strong focus on preventive maintenance, safety, and operational efficiency. Your key responsibilities

+ Adheres with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and Company directives related to building operations and work safety.

+ Inspects building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieves environmental conditions prescribed by clients.

+ Leads and oversees the work performed by outside contractors, including remodeling, HVAC, plumbing, painting, and cleaning.

+ Performs and supervises assigned repairs, emergency, and preventive maintenance. Completes and reviews maintenance and repair records as required.

+ Reviews and assign’s work orders. Estimates time and materials needed to complete repairs. Orders necessary materials and supplies to complete all tasks.

+ Maintains the building lighting system, including element and ballast repairs or replacements.

You bring

+ High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of four years of related experience and/or trade school training. Previous leadership experience preferred.

+ Certification in one or more of the following: electrical, mechanical, HVAC and refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry, or engine repair.

+ Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos, and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

+ Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Requires intermediate analytical skills.

+ Basic skills with Microsoft Office Outlook. Physical requirements include stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.

The salary or hourly wage scale provided reflects the pay range dsm-firmenich expects to pay the successful candidate for the position. Individual pay offered will be based on the applicant’s job-related skills, experience, relevant education, or training, and primary work location. Salary $32.00-36.50.
