Responsibilities
**Job Summary:** The Fleet Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of the company's fleet of vehicles. This role ensures that all vehicles are in optimal working condition, comply with safety regulations, and are ready for use. The coordinator will work closely with drivers, mechanics, and vendors to schedule and manage maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities:
+ **Maintenance Coordination:** Coordinate and schedule regular maintenance and repairs for all fleet vehicles.
+ **Vendor Management:** Liaise with external vendors and service providers to ensure timely, quality, and cost-effective maintenance services.
+ **Inspections:** Conduct routine inspections to identify and address potential issues before they become major problems.
+ **Record Keeping:** Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, including costs and timelines.
+ **Compliance:** Ensure all fleet vehicles comply with safety regulations and company policies.
+ **Invoice Payment:** Audit and process payment of invoices for fleet services.
+ **Budget Management:** Monitor and manage the maintenance budget, seeking cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
+ **Emergency Response:** Respond to and manage emergency repair situations to minimize downtime.
+ **Reporting:** Generate and present regular reports on fleet maintenance status and performance metrics.
+ **Technology:** Leverage Telematics, Transportation Management Systems (TMS), and Fleet Maintenance software to coordinate and record activities.
Qualifications
+ **Education:** High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in diesel maintenance is a plus.
+ **Experience:** Minimum of 3 years of experience in fleet maintenance or a related field.
+ **Skills:** Strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
+ **Technical Knowledge:** Proficiency in vehicle maintenance and repair procedures, as well as familiarity with diagnostic tools and software. Experience with Class 8 Tractors, Tankers, and Dry Van trailers preferred.
+ **Problem-Solving:** Ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues efficiently.
+ **Team Player:** Ability to work collaboratively with drivers, mechanics, and other team members.
+ **Communication:** Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with key stake holders across the organization.
