Journeyman 1 - Multi-Craft Maint. Tech at UPMC Chautauqua

UPMC Chautauqua in Jamestown, NY, is looking for a _Journeyman Multi-Craft_ to join our team and help ensure the safety, functionality, and efficiency of our facility. Position Highlights:

+ Shift: Primarily 1st shift with the potential for 2nd and 3rd shift work as well. Participation in weekend rotation for shift coverage as well.

+ Location: UPMC Chautauqua, Jamestown, NY, with occasional travel to local physician practices in the area.

Responsibilities:

*Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.

*Performs other duties as assigned.

Perform general maintenance work and tasks as directed with minimal supervision.

Inspect electrical distribution systems, locate short circuits, loose connectors, worn motor brushes, etc.; inspect fire alarm system and provide first response to all fire alarms.

Maintain a clean and safe work area, equipment rooms and shop areas.

Maintain all written logs pertaining to shift responsibilities, i.e., med gas, equipment room rounds, etc.

Maintain water chemistry and testing procedures on equipment and building systems.

Operate and maintain a variety of building's direct digital control (DDC) systems.

Order materials as needed.

Perform all work following infection control procedures.

Perform minor carpentry and painting work.

Record work orders and submit hours to supervisor on a daily basis.

Minor repairs and maintaining of plumbing fixtures, piping systems, plumbing leaks (soldering), defective pipes and clogged drains.

Safely and efficiently operate and maintain all mechanical systems, i.e., steam pressure heating systems, water systems, ventilation systems, refrigeration equipment, etc.; round mechanical equipment and machine rooms in all buildings as assigned.

Performs required maintenance, repair and inspection of beds.

Ability to perform snow removal activities and work in adverse weather conditions.

*Performs other duties as assigned.

+ Completion of an Associates Degree, a Two-year Mechanical or related Trade School program or an Apprenticeship in a Trade. Also 4 years of general maintenance work experience working in a healthcare or commercial environment is required. Military experience considered.

+ OR Completion of a high school diploma/GED and a Total of 8 years of general maintenance work experience working in a healthcare or commercial environment is required. Military experience considered.Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:Driver's License

***Those candidates who do not meet the above requirements can be considered for a General Maintenance 2, Multi-craft Maint. Tech which requires:

+ Completion of a high school diploma/GED is required. A total of 2 years of general maintenance-related work experience is required.

+ Driver's License

+ Pay Range: $20.65 - $33.09
