We’re looking for a motivated Delivery Driver / VMI Sales Support at our McCook distribution center to join our team! This role uses a box truck to transport goods from our McCook warehouse to customers, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries, while adhering to all safety regulations and traffic laws. This individual loads and unloads the box truck, manages delivery paperwork, and provides excellent customer service.

The hours for this role are typically 7:00 am- 3:30 pm Monday through Friday. We offer a competitive benefits package that includes vision, dental, medical and retirement benefits, as well as a paid holiday and PTO package.

Responsibilities:

•Operates a box truck, navigating routes and adhering to delivery schedules, while observing all safety regulations and Company requirements.

•Loads and unloads goods in an efficient and safe manner, potentially using equipment like forklifts or pallet jacks.

•Delivers items to designated locations, ensuring accuracy of the delivery, obtaining necessary signatures or documentation, and preparing invoices or collecting payments or proofs of delivery as necessary.

•Stocks product per customer requirements, unpacking product and placing in designated shelving, cabinets, and tool cribs.

•Conducts count of physical inventory count as required, returning the inventory sheet for transfer to Lawson customer service.

•Performs basic vehicle inspections, both pre- and post-trip, reporting any maintenance issues.

•Interacts with customers professionally, addressing any concerns or issues during delivery.

•Follows all traffic laws and safety regulations, including those related to the Department of Transportation (DOT).

•Maintains accurate records of deliveries, arrival and departure times, mileage, fuel usage, and other relevant information.

•Communicates with dispatchers, supervisors, and customers regarding delivery status, issues, or delays.

•Prioritizes safety in all aspects of the job, including driving, loading, unloading, and handling materials.

•Monitors the maintenance and repair of the vehicle.

•Performs other duties as assigned in support warehouse operations.

Qualifications & Requirements:

•High school diploma, with at least 1 year of delivery driving experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

•Valid driver's license required, commercial driver's license (CDL) preferred, with a clean driving record.

•Proven driving experience operating a box truck or similar vehicle

•Physical stamina with the ability to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds, and perform physically demanding tasks associated with loading and unloading

•Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills

•Able to manage delivery schedules, paperwork, and routes effectively

•Good problem-solving skills, with the ability to address unexpected issues or delays during deliveries

•Detail oriented, attentive, and able to understand and follow directions

•Knowledge and willingness to understand and adhere to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations

•Works in warehouse environment with moderate noise level

•Works in a variety of environments, including urban, suburban, and sometimes rural areas

•May be exposed to different weather conditions and traffic situations

•The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate

The hourly rate will be $23.00-$25.00
