Job Description :

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Provides supervision of staff and area functions; serves as a physician liaison; and performs prescribed imaging and patient care services as per protocol, supervises equipment maintenance, and supply chain. Performs other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

+ Positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately to independently perform angiography per established protocols. Prepares for and assists the physician while performing procedures. Prepares contrast media and/or medication within accepted scope of practice. (30%)

+ Implements radiation and patient safety standards and provides technical expertise for development of protocols. (10%)

+ Completes all required documentation for procedures such as procedure log, regulatory, charge capture/posting, and image archival. Maintains needed inventory for procedures. (20%)

+ Assists in the management of human resources and non-labor expenses and activities for the department; maintains a quality assurance program according to regulations established by regulatory bodies. (35%)

+ Assists with tech scheduling, orientation, and hiring of tech staff. (5%)

+ Performs all other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

+ American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Registered Technologist, Registered Technologist (Radiology) (RT(R)), and/or ARRT Certification in Interventional Radiology Imaging

+ Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification

+ 5 – 7 years’ experience in invasive cardiology department as technologist

+ CPR – American Heart Association

+ Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

+ Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate

+ Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

Preferred

+ Bachelor’s degree
