    LEAD INTERNAL FLEET DRIVER - 2ND SHIFT

    As a Lead Internal Fleet Driver, your primary responsibilities will be to oversee the localized movement of aerospace production, test, and flight components between SpaceX and vendors within an approximate 100-mile radius of Cape Canaveral.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Support loading, driving, and unloading of flight, non-flight, fabrication, and tooling items between SpaceX sites at Cape Canaveral

    + Safely load trucks at pickup points and transport truckloads to the destination following the rules of the road at all times

    + Safely load and unload trucks at designated drop-off points

    + Responsible for ensuring truckload contents are secure for safe and undamaged delivery to the destination

    + Responsible for scanning barcodes, meeting business WMS requirements

    + Review all documentation for the correct items to be delivered, as well as the precise delivery area

    + Maintain all applicable documents (paperwork) related to items being delivered to ensure they are not damaged during delivery

    + Monitor service records of the vehicle when driving and report all problems to the manager immediately

    + Responsible for the cleanliness of the vehicle and refueling when low

    + Maintain driving records, product documentation, and associated communications as required by department standards

    + Ensure the cleanliness of the vehicles, fueling of trucks, and timely reporting of any incidents, accidents, or near-misses to the management team

    + Interface with Engineers and Technicians on transport move requests to ensure proper handling of equipment and hardware is performed

    + Work with Production customers for priority and schedule requirements

    + Update weekly work schedules and weekend overtime schedules

    + Adjust resources to support priorities and backlogs

    + Provide day-to-day directions to associate employees, including training

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    + High school diploma or equivalency certificate

    + 3+ years of professional commercial driving experience

    + 1+ years of professional forklift experience

    PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

    + Counter-balance and sit-down forklift experience

    + Experience with package delivery

    + Material handling and heavy haul driving experience (over 26k GVW)

    + Experience driving in a high-volume manufacturing environment

    + Excellent organizational and time management skills

    + Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team

    + Strong customer-service delivery background

    + CDL Hazmat endorsement

    + CDL Tanker endorsement

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    + Valid CDL Class A license

    + Clean DMV record

    + Ability to work the following shift: Monday – Friday, 1:00pm - 11:30pm

    + Ability to pass Air Force background check for Cape Canaveral

    + Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted

    + Lifting, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position

    + To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
