Job Description
A client in Nashville, TN area is looking for an Installation Technician to join their team. They will be doing a variety of tasks such as installing, system start-up/check-out, cable termination, and related customer training on assigned fire, security, and/or building automation projects.
Installs, test, repairs, and services a variety of systems and equipment which may include security, fire alarm & life safety, and/or building automation
Interprets manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams, and repairs equipment, utilizing knowledge of electronics and using standard test instruments and hand tools
Provides basic installation assistance as directed by project lead
Makes suggestions for installation methods to improve profitability and quality.
Responsible for providing basic hand tools as required to perform the daily tasks of the position

Skills and Requirements
3+ year of installation experience (maglocks, glass breaks, motion sensors, strikes, access controls, etc.) within a commercial setting
Experience with electrical or low voltage cabling (pulling cable and terminating panels and all field devices)
Ability to read and understand blueprints, design drawings including wiring and labeling methods, system wiring, wiring methods, and cable support installation (J-Hook, Raceway, Conduit, Cable Support)
Familiar with basic blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications to determine installation procedures
Basic mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g. works with a variety of hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper) and ability to read blueprints and drawings, solid math skills
Willing ot travel as needed for up to 2 weeks at a time Experience programming access controls
Certifications: product-specific certifications helpful; industry-specific certifications desired (CCure, Avigilon, Gallagher)
