Job Description
Insight Global is seeking an Interim Director that will oversee daily payroll operations for a healthcare system with over 30,000 employees, lead the payroll team, and drive the successful implementation of payroll/ workforce management systems for a November 2025 go-live.
Daily Responsibilities Include:
- Oversee payroll operations: You will manage the end-to-end payroll process for a healthcare system with 30,000+ employees, ensuring timely and accurate payroll execution, including processing, compliance, and reporting.
- Lead and mentor the payroll team: You will guide and support payroll staff, assigning tasks, reviewing performance, and fostering collaboration to meet deadlines (number of direct reports TBD).
- Support system implementation: You will actively contribute to the planning, testing, and rollout of payroll/ workforce management (WFM) systems, working toward a November 2025 go-live, including troubleshooting issues and coordinating with stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance and accuracy: You will review payroll data, resolve discrepancies, and ensure adherence to healthcare regulations, tax laws, and internal policies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders: You will work with HR, finance, and IT departments to align payroll processes and address system integration needs for the upcoming implementation.
- Monitor and optimize processes: You will evaluate daily payroll workflows, identify inefficiencies, and implement improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Handle escalated issues: You will address complex payroll inquiries or errors, providing solutions and clear communication to employees and leadership.
- Prepare for go-live milestones: You will participate in meetings, training sessions, or vendor discussions to ensure the payroll/WFM system implementation stays on track for November 2025.

Skills and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business.
- At least 8 years of experience in a senior payroll position supporting a large hospital or healthcare system.
- Leadership experience, previously working as a Manager or above.
- Previous experience working on an implementation. - WFM experience
