• CAD Technician

    Insight Global (Marietta, GA)


    Job Description

    - Prepare diagrams, layouts, and detailed drawings to scale based on engineering sketches and specifications.

     

    - Perform mathematical, geometrical, and engineering computations.

     

    - Utilize GIS and CAD software to prepare spatial/cartographic displays and engineering-quality drawings.

     

    - Create and maintain web-based maps, dashboards, and applications using ArcGIS Online and related tools.

     

    - Maintain drawing standards including fonts, line weights, title blocks, and naming conventions.

     

    - Support the operation and maintenance of GIS/CAD platforms including ArcFM, G-Tech, Small World, or FRAMME.

     

    - Assist with field data collection using GPS tools; perform post-processing as needed.

     

    - Track project status and support internal workflows using mapping platforms and QA/QC procedures.

     

    - File drawings, catalog engineering data, and support document/report creation using Microsoft Office and Adobe

     

    products.

    Skills and Requirements

    Education & Experience:

    - High school diploma or GED required.

     

    - 1-4 years of relevant CAD/GIS experience depending on level.

     

    - Technical school certificate or Associate's degree preferred.

     

    - Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geospatial Science, Engineering Technology, or related field is a plus.

    Technical Skills:

    - Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microstation, or ArcGIS required - Micostation

     

    - Experience within utilities, gas or DOT
