    BAE Systems, Electronic Systems sector is currently recruiting for a Director of Sourcing and Procurement in support of our Electronic Combat Solutions business area with ~$700M in annual material spend. The Director of Sourcing and Procurement is a senior leadership role responsible for leading the development, negotiation, and administration of purchase orders, subcontracts and other contractual vehicles to support business objectives. This position oversees a team of procurement and subcontract professionals and collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies. The Director develops and implements sourcing and procurement strategies, identifies and mitigates contractual risks, and ensures that supplier due diligence requirements meet project requirements. This role requires strong technical, business, and leadership skills, as well as excellent communication and negotiation abilities, to drive business growth and success through effective subcontract management.

    Key responsibilities of the role include:

    + Overseeing all aspects of supplier contractual administration across the business area, including supplier agreement formation, negotiation, and administration of supplier contracts and terms.

    + Providing higher-level guidance and hands-on coaching to procurement professionals supporting complex contractual arrangements of strategic importance to the business.

    + Elevating the capabilities of the functional team and its interactions with other functions to deliver on operational and financial goals.

    + Collaborating with supplier executive leadership to manage strategic relationships and ensure delivery of contracted requirements

    + Being an engaged member of the business area supply chain leadership team, advising cross-functional business area team members on all aspects of supplier contract management and procurement compliance.

    + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.

    + Ability to motivate and inspire teams, manage conflict, and resolve issues effectively.

    + Ability to shift from high-level strategic coaching to occasional front-line subcontract management as circumstances arise

    + Strong business acumen and understanding of how supply chain performance is an enabler to business growth.

    + Ability to understand and translate complex contractual concepts in terms of business impact.

    Required Education, Experience, & Skills

    + Related Bachelor's Degree with 12 years work experience or equivalent experience

    + 8 years experience with procurement or subcontracts in a highly regulated manufacturing industry

    + Significant experience in the end-to-end procurement or subcontract lifecycle from proposal phase to contract closeout

    + Broad understanding of contracts/business law principles and complex agreement structures

    + Comprehensive knowledge of US Government regulations, including the FAR, DFARS, and ITAR, and how to interpret flow down requirements

    + Deep understanding of procurement methodologies, tool sets, and how to implement compliance standards in the procurement process

    + Demonstrated ability to engage in complex supplier negotiations and resolve contractual issues with suppliers

    + Excellent writing skills

    + Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook).

    + Willingness to travel domestically up to 25%

    + Ability to obtain Secret clearance

    Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

    + 10 years experience in an Aerospace and Defense procurement environment

    + Certification in Supply Chain Management (APICS, CSCP)

    + Proficiency in supply chain management software and systems

    + Existing Secret or Top Secret clearance

    + Familiarity with Oracle purchasing system

     

    Pay Information

     

    Full-Time Salary Range: $135556 - $230444

     

    Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
