• HYBRID Mental Health Educator

    Job Description

    Insight Global is looking for a Mental Health Educator to support a large health system located in Lanham, MD with their partnership with Prince Georges’ County School System. This person will partner with school guidance counselors to educate middle and high school students across the county. The education will be focused on behavioral health and will cover topics such as depression, anxiety, drug abuse, etc. They will not be holding therapy sessions but rather teaching lessons to students who choose to go during their lunch periods. They will even be certifying students to be Mental Health First Aid certified. The Licensed Clinician/Educator will be able to work remotely during the hours that they are not teaching lessons in the schools. However, this person will need to be flexible to the needs of the health system: supporting the health system’s urgent care for crisis intervention or outpatient clinic, when needed. Mileage back and forth from the schools will be reimbursed.

     

    • Home base is the hospital in Lanham, MD

    • Will be traveling back and forth from Lanham, MD and schools in PG County, MD (see pictures of county map below.. it is right outside of Washington, DC)

     

    o Mileage will be reimbursed

    o All schools are within 10 miles of the hospital

    • Middle and high schools only

    • Typically, only at one school/day…2 at max

    • Will spend ~3-4 hours/day in the schools. The rest of the work day is spent planning/preparing resources and materials for future lessons

     

    o When not in the schools, educator is able to work remotely at home or at the ‘home base’ in Lanham

     

    o This person may be occasionally needed for support in the outpatient or urgent care clinic when they are not in the schools (example: they may need additional support during winter/summer break when students are not in school).

    Skills and Requirements

    • Certified Social Worker Clinical (LCSW-C ) from the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC ) from the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors from the Maryland Board of Counselors.

    • Master's Degree in related clinical field
