Job Description

Insight Global is hiring for a Back End Java Developer to support a product enabling telecommunications ordering services across the United States and Canada. This person will be performing primarily Back End development in a REST API/Microservices based environment leveraging both relational (Oracle and PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases on the back end. We are also focused on finding a candidate who has deployed applications via Kubernetes and has worked in post-production environments and has provided support and development as needed to back-end components once in production.

Responsibilities include:

- Developing solutions to back end Rest API and Microservices based systems in a Java based application

- Optimizing and improving the back end systems and integrations between the API layers and the database layers of the applications

- Design solutions and develop on an independent basis, but also be able to work alongside others as needed.

- Provide post production support and troubleshooting to the applications/platforms and understand where there are breaks/bugs to fix within the back end layers of the applications and systems.

- Utilize JIRA for all ticket tracking, updates, and progress on projects and development efforts

- Deploy software via containers using Kubernetes/Docker

- Perform some testing as needed on solutions and take part in the testing processes for new solutions

The compensation for this position ranges from $110,000 to $140,000 depending on experience.

Skills and Requirements

- 5+ years of Back End Java Development experience is required.

- Experience in Agile Development environments

- Extensive experience developing solutions with Java, building RESTful API’s via Spring Framework, and development of Microservices/in a Microservices architecture

- Strong skills with both Relational (Oracle and PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases in terms of the application and data layers

- Experience deploying containerized solutions via Kubernetes and Docker

- Proven experience supporting applications/platforms in both development and production based environments

- Ability to troubleshoot and identify issues in production environments and then design solutions to back end related issues for the application/platform - Any AWS or GCP experience

- Any Telecommunications/Telecom Order Management System experience

- Development: Apache Camel, Hibernate, MyBatis, Tomcat, XSLT, JMS

- Debugging: Eclipse, IntelliJ IDEA, and Visual Studio Code

- CI/CD Pipeline experience with Jenkins, Harness, GitLab CI/CD and Maven
