Insight Global’s client is seeking 3 Maintenance Technicians in the DC area for a direct hire opportunity. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for one affordable housing community and performs routine maintenance in individual apartments, common areas, and amenity areas working onsite Monday – Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm plus on call. Responsibilities will include preparing vacant units for new move-ins, routine preventive maintenance, assist in various cleaning functions, monitoring the grounds, maintaining and repairing physical structures of buildings and grounds.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintains and repairs buildings: areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to: electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, landscaping, painting, cleaning, appliances, pools, utilities, elevators, fencing/gates, and fire systems.

• Responsible for completing all service requests/ work orders at the direction of the maintenance supervisor or property manager as required within 24 hours.

• Complete apartment service tickets and log all assigned work orders accurately and in a timely fashion.

• Manage vacant apartments by preparing them through the turnover process so apartments are ready to lease to new prospects.

• Assists in ordering supplies for the property.

• Cleans internal and external areas of buildings, including dusting, sweeping, and mopping, washes windows.

• Empties trash cans and consolidates trash for weekly pickup.

• Paints interior and exterior walls and trim.

• Repairs parking lot and sidewalks with asphalt, cold patching materials, and concrete.

• Maintains and repairs wood parts of buildings.

• Replaces worn or damaged parts such as hoses, wiring, and belts, in machines and equipment such as truck, street sweeper and other equipment used within the maintenance department.

• Assists with moving furniture, appliances, loading, unloading and storing supplies.

• Completes job neatly and cleans up workspace when finished.

• Respond to On-Call Emergencies promptly.

• Landscaping as necessary including: Cuts grass and trim weeds, Digs flower beds and plants flowers, Constructs decorative flower garden borders from wood

Skills and Requirements

• 2+ years experience as a residential maintenance technician

• Current HVAC certification – EPA I, EPA II, or Universal

• Hands on experience with general maintenance of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, landscaping, painting, appliance repair, pools, utilities, elevators, and fire systems

• Ability to lift up to 75lbs

• Must have reliable transportation and ability to respond to emergency maintenance calls within 1 hour

• HS Diploma or GED equivalency • Experience with Onsite, Yardi, Voyager, or P2P
