Responsibilities
What You’ll Do:
+ We are seeking a Business Unit Controller/Director of Accounting with expertise in revenue recognition for our Aerospace Systems business unit. This role is critical in ensuring compliance with defense industry regulations, general accepted accounting principles (GAAP), maintaining accurate financial reporting, and serving as the Accounting subject matter expert for the business unit while liaising closely with Corporate Accounting. This role is a direct report to the business unit CFO and a key member of the Aerospace Systems finance leadership team, with dotted line reporting into V2X Corporate Accounting.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Team leadership: mentor, develop, and manage team of approx. 7 - 10 people
+ Financial Oversight: Manage program accounting operations within the division, ensuring compliance with GAAP and relevant defense industry regulations. Review and approve required journal entries. Perform financial statement reviews and analysis. Support balance sheet analysis and improvement initiatives.
+ Revenue Recognition: Oversee revenue recognition processes for the business unit, ensuring adherence to corporate policy, ASC 606 and other applicable standards. Support EAC development with respect to accounting matters including variable consideration and judgment.
+ Reporting: Prepare and present timely financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements, to senior management and adhering to corporate consolidation requirements.
+ Internal Controls: Develop and implement internal controls to mitigate risks of errors and fraud and to adhere to corporate SOX requirements.
+ Audit Coordination: Coordinate with external auditors to ensure timely completion of audits and compliance reviews.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Education:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;
+ Certification:
+ CPA or CMA certification preferred.
+ Experience:
+ Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in accounting or finance, with a focus on revenue recognition in the defense sector. Services, manufacturing, and engineering programs/businesses experience preferred.
+ Other Requirement:
+ United States citizenship required.
+ Skills:
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (SAP preferred, or other similar systems relevant experience).
+ Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
+ Unwavering commitment to business ethics and professionalism
+ Software:
+ Microsoft Office 365 suite, including project management tools such as MS project and Smartsheet
+ Technology:
+ Company computer, printer, copy machine and other general office equipment.

+ The following salary range is intended to display the value of the company’s base pay
+ USD $165,000 – $220,000
+ Provided salary range minimum and maximum values correspond to variances between regional/geographic locations across the United States.
