The Minfei Su Lab in the Chemistry Department at Binghamton University is seeking a passionate and dedicated postdoctoral researcher to join an NIH-funded project focused on G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs), which are key targets for more than one-third of FDA-approved drugs. This research combines cryo-EM, biochemical and biophysical techniques, and cellular assays to investigate the structure and function of GPCRs (e.g. Nature Communications (2023), doi: 10.1038/s41467-023-40524-2; Nature Communications (2022), doi: 10.1038/s41467-022-31823-1; Nature Structural & Molecular Biology (2021), doi: 10.1038/s41594-021-00679-2; Molecular Cell (2020), doi: 10.1016/j.molcel.2020.08.001).
We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in membrane protein biochemistry and cryo-EM. The successful candidate will also be expected to maintain accurate and organized records of experiments and results, present research findings at conferences, prepare manuscripts for publication, and help mentor junior lab members.
Job Requirements:
+ Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Structural Biology, or a related field, completed before the start date
+ Proficiency in membrane protein expression and purification, biochemical and biophysical characterization, and cryo-EM
+ Experience with cell-based assays is a plus
+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Additional Information:
Salary: $55,000 annually.
