**Pay Range:** $55.75 - $93.66 per hour

Summary:
The Manager of Clinical Applications directly manages the implementation, optimization, and support of the institution’s clinical and business systems. The manager ensures that system functionality is designed and delivered to support clinical and business processes as well as information needs. They act as a liaison between Information Services and operational leadership. They serve as product managers for their respective application areas. The Manager of Clinical Applications exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
+ Manages and oversees the implementation of new workflow and/or application systems within the institution. Ensures delivery of products that enable business value.
+ Responsible for assessing departmental needs in terms of workflow and technology recommendations to operational leadership for the implementation of new processes/systems or expansion of current processes/systems.
+ Assigns and coordinates resources to meet group goals.
+ Anticipates and is proactive towards meeting customer needs.
+ Provides technical advice to operational leadership when implementing new workflows or applications.
+ Works within DIS to present consistent messaging to the customer.
+ Participates in strategic planning and department coordination.
+ Balances needs for support, maintenance, and administrative tasks with projects.
+ Monitors group portfolio of projects; works with the project teams to identify and resolve risks and issues.
+ Reviews and approves Business Cases and SOW for projects. Manages support vendors and assists in contract negotiations.
+ Builds a positive and productive relationship with operational leadership and their teams.
+ Acts as liaison between operational leadership and DIS teams to ensure all systems are maintained in accordance with established policies and procedures.
+ Proactively identifies workflow or application issues and collaboratively seeks resolution. Initiates standard repeatable group processes where appropriate.
+ Sets and meets accounting unit budget(s).
+ Mentors team members.
+ Responsible for employee reviews and career development.
+ Other duties as assigned.
Required Job Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree with 5 years relevant experience required.
+ In lieu of bachelor's degree 9-10 years of relevant experience and a high school diploma or equivalent is required, with experience preferably in healthcare or information services.
+ Training related to Epic or other Clinical or Business Applications.
+ Six years of overall experience leading to increasing responsibilities. Strong understanding of clinical workflows in a healthcare setting.
+ Strong oral and written communication skills.
+ Demonstrated influencing skills.
+ Demonstrated ability to creatively solve complex issues. Command of common office tools (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite, Visio).
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Master’s degree in healthcare administration, information systems, or business.
+ Project management (PMP) or process improvement (Lean Six Sigma, or similar) certification
+ Experience managing applications teams in an academic medical center or large health system.
+ Applications support and implementation experience with clinical technologies including patient monitoring, smart pumps, clinical communications including nurse call and alarm management solutions.
