    Job Summary

    The Mining Engineer Internship at Barrett Paving Materials Inc. provides students with hands-on exposure to quarry operations, mine planning, and aggregate processing. Interns will gain practical experience while contributing to meaningful projects that support operational efficiency, safety, and sustainability.

    Main Responsibilities

    + Spend significant time at aggregate facilities to understand mining operations, equipment, and material processing.

    + Complete a defined project that supports business needs and develops technical/analytical skills.

    + Work with geologists and operations teams on mine planning, production tracking, and quality initiatives.

    + Compile and analyze production data, prepare reports, and assist in problem-solving.

    + Handle sensitive information with integrity and maintain a strong commitment to safety and teamwork.

     

    Skills

     

    + Strong analytical and quantitative skills (basic math and data analysis).

    + Effective written and verbal communication.

    + Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and willingness to learn industry software (AutoCAD, mine planning tools, etc.).

    + Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

    + Ability to work effectively with employees at all levels.

    + Self-motivated, adaptable, and eager to learn.

    + Willingness to travel as needed.

    Education

    Enrolled in a Mining Engineering Bachelor’s degree program
