• Lecturer 10 Months - Accounting and Law

    University at Albany (Albany, NY)


    The lecturer will teach 3 courses per semester at the discretion of the department chair and perform services as necessary including:

    + Organizing the Junior Accounting Orientation.

    + Directing the EY Leads program.

    + Attending department meetings and serving on selected School committees

    Primary Responsibilities:

    + Instruction and preparation. Will teach a 3-3 teaching load.

    + Other services and duties such as JAO and EY Leads

    Functional and Supervisory Relationships:

    + Reports to: Chair, Dept of Accounting and Law

    Job Requirements:

    + Knowledge of different subjects of Accounting in order to teach them, including intermediate and advanced financial accounting, managerial accounting, auditing, accounting information systems, government and not-for-profit accounting, etc.

    Job Requirements:

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + Master's degree or doctorate degree (e.g. DBA) in Accounting or related field from a college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.

    + In their application materials, candidates must address their plan and ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in varying modalities (in-person, online, and/or hybrid).

    + Applicants must demonstrate an ability to develop inclusive and equitable relationships within our diverse campus community

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Experience teaching different courses in Accounting

    + Potential to teach in the three graduate programs

    + A PhD in Accounting or a related field (e.g. Analytics, MIS, Informatics or Economics) from a college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization

    + CPA - Current NYS CPA or equivalent

    + Evidence of institutional service

    Professional Rank and Salary Range: Lecturer (10 Months), A0, Salary commensurate with experience.
