Our work depends on a Research and Development Engineer joining our team to deliver innovative solutions and conduct comprehensive technology research to evaluate potential vulnerabilities in cyberspace systems.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

+ Conduct software and systems engineering research to support the development of new cyberspace capabilities.

+ Identify and analyze potential vulnerabilities in software, hardware, and firmware components.

+ Perform threat modeling and risk assessments to uncover potential attack vectors and vulnerabilities.

+ Evaluate the security posture of cyberspace systems, including network protocols, operating systems, and applications.

+ Research and analyze emerging trends and technologies in cyberspace such as AI, ML, and IoT.

+ Leverage cybersecurity tools such as vulnerability scanners, penetration testing frameworks, and SIEM systems.

+ Collaborate with MARFORCYBER teams to translate research findings into actionable recommendations and solutions.

+ Drive innovation in cyberspace capabilities by developing prototypes and proof-of-concept solutions.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

+ Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred); additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree

+ 8+ years of experience in research and development, systems engineering, or cybersecurity fields.

+ Experience in vulnerability analysis of software, hardware, and firmware.

+ Knowledge of threat modeling methodologies and risk assessment frameworks.

+ Proficiency with cybersecurity tools such as vulnerability scanners, penetration testing frameworks, and SIEM systems.

+ Familiarity with operating systems, network protocols, and application-level security.

+ Understanding of emerging technologies such as AI, ML, and IoT.

+ TS/SCI (or eligible).

PREFFERED SKILLS

+ Experience conducting advanced research projects in a government or defense setting.

+ Knowledge of MARFORCYBER and USCYBERCOM missions.

+ Familiarity with advanced modeling, simulation, and prototyping tools.

The likely salary range for this position is $212,500 - $287,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
