    General Overview: The Pastoral Assistant (PA) will work with the Agency Minister to help create and deliver Faith and Spiritual Development Opportunity (FSDO) activities for CMI program participants and staff. These activities include small group work, larger events, weekly worship, and one-on-one engagement.

    Additional information:

    This position requires a person who values the principles of ecumenism and interfaith cooperation among the variety of religious traditions in WNY. The ideal candidate demonstrates commitment to these principles while embodying compassionate service to those in need and understands that this role does not involve proselytizing for any specific faith tradition. This position focuses on offering opportunities to support religious & spiritual growth for CMI program participants and CMI staff in the religious tradition of their choice. Finally, the ideal candidate has a strong and consistent relationship with a local worshiping community that has an established history in the community.

    The following points are focused on the work & environment of the PA. The Pastoral Assistant:

     

    + Will serve diverse populations including individuals experiencing homelessness, food insecurity, persistent mental illness (adults), emotional/mental health challenges (youth), and citizens returning from incarceration.

    + Will be provided training by CMI to familiarize and work with these varied populations.

    + Will help coordinate and eventually supervise the activities of the Faith Services Team Leaders initiative (specialized volunteers who are able to work with CMI program participants without direct supervision) and track their FSDO offerings.

    + Will serve as a member of CMI's Community and Religious Services Committee, participating in identifying community needs and fostering cooperation to address them.

    + Will need to undergo a background check and be fingerprinted per regulatory requirements as well as State Central Registry cleared (carries the names of known child abusers).

    + Should have solid proficiency with Microsoft Office software (MSWord, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint).

    + Will have a valid driver’s license in good standing.

    + Will have a flexible schedule to address the varied needs of the agency, programs and individuals served at CMI in 24/7 programs. The schedule will have some variability that will include days, early evenings and weekends. In general, the schedule will skew towards weekday afternoons/evenings.

     

    Salary Range: $23.50, hourly.

     

    Hours: Part-Time
