Position Summary
We are seeking applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position with a focus on organic chemistry to begin August 2026 pending budgetary approval. We will consider candidates whose prior academic experience might qualify them for abbreviated time to tenure review. Candidates with experience at the interface of organic, bioorganic, and medicinal chemistry are also encouraged to apply. Duties include teaching chemistry lectures and laboratory courses at the undergraduate level, including organic chemistry; establishing an active research program that is suitable for involving undergraduates and that leads to publications and external support; and contributing service to the department, college, and discipline.
Required Qualifications
• PhD in Chemistry or closely related field conferred by or close to August 2026
• Expertise in organic chemistry
• Demonstrated potential for undergraduate teaching excellence, especially in organic chemistry, including laboratories.
• Demonstrated potential for a research program leading to publications and external funding that is suitable for undergraduate participation
• Demonstrated commitment to fostering a supportive environment for faculty and students from a broad range of backgrounds
Candidates must be Authorized to work in the United States without VISA sponsorship.
