• Staff Software Engineer

    Overview

     

    Intuit is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our Marketing Technology team. In this leadership position, you will guide a team of engineers in developing critical data-driven solutions vital to Intuit's marketing strategies, including the effective management and utilization of big data.

    What you'll bring

    + 8+ years’ experience designing and developing software with emphasis on data and big data.

    + Strong leadership experience: Leading meetings, presenting, technical go to person, and cross-functional leader

    + BS/MS in computer science or equivalent work experience.

    + Expertise with Java/J2EE and Python.

    + Expertise with the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

    + Excellent communication skills: Demonstrated ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences

    + Expertise in the Software design/architecture process

    + Expertise with unit testing & Test-Driven Development (TDD)

    + Business Acumen - strategic thinking & strategy development

    + Building strong teams - set and evangelize vision, facilitative leadership, attract and retain key talent

    How you will lead

    + Architecting and developing software, prototypes, or proofs of concepts (POC).

    + Leading the gathering of functional requirements, developing technical specifications, and project & test planning.

    + Acting as the technical subject matter expert: Mentoring fellow engineers, demonstrating technical expertise, and leading a small team solving challenging programming and design problems.

    + Roughly 40-60% hands-on coding.

    + Generate technical documentation and presentations to communicate architectural and design options and educate development teams and business users.

    + Resolve defects/bugs during testing, pre-production, production, and post-release patches.

    + Work cross-functionally with various Intuit teams including product management, various product lines, and/or business units to drive forward results.

    + Demonstrate a passion for developing well architected, elegant solutions.

    + Experience with Agile Development, SCRUM, or Extreme Programming methodologies

     

    Intuit provides a competitive compensation package with a strong pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this position is: Bay Area California $197,000-$266,500This position will be eligible for a cash bonus, equity rewards and benefits, in accordance with our applicable plans and programs (see more about our compensation and benefits at Intuit®: Careers | Benefits).Pay offered is based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and work location.
