Job Purpose

This position is responsible for producing steel products for weldments.

Essential Functions:

+ Operates vertical and horizontal CNC machines to include a boring mill.

+ Use of CNC Programming- G Code, Conversational, and Mastercam

+ Successfully sets up parts and tools to start machine setup.

+ Uses different measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, dial bore gauge, etc.

+ Safe operation of heavy equipment including overhead hoists and lift assist equipment.

+ Actively participate in safety programs to promote the goal of zero incidents and injuries.

+ Maintains all aspects of workplace organization.

+ Provides clear and consistent communication on all activities to appropriate individuals.

Qualifications Guidelines

Experience/Training/Education:

Required: High school diploma or equivalent with 2+ years' related experience.

Desired: 1-2 year vocational technology diploma/ certificate and/ or 2+ years' experience working in a machine shop.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

+ Ability to understand written and verbal instructions and work rules/ procedures.

+ Knowledge and understanding of applicable operating procedures and material flow.

+ Basic math knowledge (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of fractions).

+ Ability to read blueprints and decipher machine notes/ symbols.

Physical and Environmental Elements:

This is a production classification and employees work in a factory or warehouse environment with exposure to noise and machinery. The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/ cold, wet/humid, and dry/ arid conditions. Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials. May be requested to work overtime and weekends.
