    Job Title: Test Technician

    About the Company:

    Our client in Portage County Ohio that specializes in power distribution and quality monitoring is seeking a Test Technician to join their team. This role involves implementing appropriate test methods, utilizing test equipment, executing test procedures and software, and playing a lead role in testing newly developed products as well as standard production testing. The Test Technician will work with a wide range of test instruments and operate with limited supervision.

    Responsibilities:

    + Inspect and test electrical/electronic power equipment, transformers, and circuit breakers

    + Troubleshoot AC and DC power and control circuits up to 480V

    + Perform occasional repairs of control, power, and fiber optic assembly, including crimping and routing

    + Program electronic devices and interface with computer-based systems

    + Complete test reports and documentation accurately

    Work Environment:

    + Exposure to voltages and circuits up to 480V

    + Occasional use of step ladders to access equipment

    + Moderate noise and heat during load testing

    Qualifications:

    _Required:_

    + Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or at least 2 years of power industry experience

    + Proficiency with voltmeters and current meters

    + Ability to read and understand schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings

    + Strong attention to detail and safety procedures, including PPE and Lockout/Tagout

    + Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, file management)

    _Preferred:_

    + Experience with electrical assembly and wiring

    + Electrical troubleshooting skills

    + Familiarity with measurement tools, NEC code, and documentation practices

    + Small tool knowledge and some programming exposure

    Physical Requirements:

    + Ability to stand for extended periods

    + Dexterity to handle and manipulate tools and components

    + Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling

    + Visual acuity and ability to lift up to 30 pounds

    Schedule:

    + 1st Shift: Monday – Friday, 6:00 am – 2:30 pm (½ hour unpaid lunch, 2 paid breaks)

    + 2nd Shift: Monday – Thursday, 2:00 pm – 12:30 am (½ hour unpaid lunch, 2 paid breaks)
