    Position Title: Unified Basketball Assistant Coach (Spring 2026)

     

    Salary/Pay Scale: $698

    Requirements:

    •New York State coaching certification https://www.highered.nysed.gov/tcert/certificate/coaching.html

    •Completion of CDC or NFHS concussion management course.

    •Strong leadership, organizational and communication skills with an emphasis on academics, sportsmanship, and character development.

    •Possess the ability to provide a challenging, first class, positive experience for our students, while striving for excellence and teaching lifelong lessons.

    •Certified Physical Education Teacher with all NYS Coaching requirements completed preferred.

    •Prior basketball coaching and participation experience preferred.

    •Prior experience coaching Varsity student-athletes (regardless of the sport) preferred.

    •Prior experience teaching Adapted PE or working with students with special needs preferred.

    •Prior experience coaching Unified Sports preferred.

    Description:

    The assistant coach works with the head coach to provide instruction to the team and develop and maintain the goals of the program while ensuring that everything is conducted within the philosophy and policies for interscholastic athletics as developed by the administration. This may include, but is not limited to: Assisting in conducting practices; assisting a coach at contests; assuming the role of coach in the absence of the head coach as needed; and any other tasks as assigned by the varsity coach or athletic director.
