    Project MUSE, a division of Johns Hopkins University Press, seeks a **_Publisher Partnerships Coordinator_** . The Publisher Partnerships Coordinator will be responsible for working collaboratively with non-profit scholarly publishers who participate in the Project MUSE platform. The Publisher Partnerships Coordinator will join a team of exceptional professionals committed to bringing the benefits of discovery to the world by providing global access, impact, and influence for the scholarship that we publish and distribute. This position will help to ensure that the Press is a leader in selecting and developing innovative ideas and scholarship, creating and embracing transformative technologies to enhance discovery and learning, and connecting people to the most trusted knowledge from global researchers, scholars, and educators.

    The starting salary range for this position is $53,800 to $74,100.

    Specific Duties & Responsibilities

    + Serve as general contact for publisher partners.

    + Coordinate communication strategies with publisher partners across various mediums including email, newsletters, virtual and in-person meetings, conference appearances, and other contexts.

    + Respond to new publisher applications for journals, books, and other content

    + Oversee collection curation and development. Consult across departments and with publishers to identify opportunities for new content that will support MUSE’s growth and make informed acquisitions suggestions.

    + Onboard new publishers who join MUSE and provide orientations for new and prospective publishing partners in concert with Production team

    + Conduct market research projects on content acquisitions/sales opportunities and write up summary results

    + Draft and maintain SOPs for Library and Publisher Partnerships department processes with an eye towards improving workflows, efficiencies, and internal/external communications

    + Maintain contracts filing system for publisher agreements

    + Take an active role in annual Publisher Business Meeting and other internal and external-facing webinars and events.

    + Represent MUSE at conferences and other events as needed

    + Hire and manage JHU student worker(s)

    + Weave diversity, equity, inclusion, and access principles into all aspects of the work

    + Perform other related duties as requested.

    Minimum Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s Degree.

    + Two years of related experience.

    + Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

    + Strong written and oral communication skills, with an ability to explain technical concepts.

    + Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

    + Ability to quickly learn new subjects in a fast-changing industry, and absorb and communicate new information.

    + Strong customer service orientation.

    + Excellent critical thinking and communication skills.

    + Outstanding problem-solving skills including using analytics to drive decisions.

    + Creative thinker, embracing new ideas, passionate about developing the potential of Hopkins Press.

    + Inclusive in decision-making and problem-solving.

    + Excel in effective use of resources; keen self-awareness of strengths and weaknesses.

    Technical Qualifications or Specialized Certifications

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

    Starting Salary Range: $53,800 - $94,400 Annually ($70,000 targeted; Commensurate w/exp.)

    Schedule: M-F 8:30 am - 5:00 pm

    The listed salary range represents the minimum and maximum Johns Hopkins University offers for this position, based on a good faith estimate at the time of posting. Actual compensation will vary depending on factors such as location, skills, experience, market conditions, education, and internal equity. Not all candidates will qualify for the highest salary in the range.
