Job Description

Our client is seeking an MRI Technologist on their Mobile Unit, traveling between Hickory and Morganton, NC. This person would perform MRI scans to help diagnose injuries and illnesses. Seeking experienced MRI techs or those looking to expand their skills in imaging. If you’re passionate about patient care and diagnostics, this is a great opportunity.

• Prepares and positions patients for diagnostic imaging procedures. Places additional coils and/or immobilizes patient as required for the exam

• Assists physician during the administration of contrast media and practices medical and surgical aseptic procedures as required. Monitors patients for allergic reactions and respond appropriately

• Determine imaging factors based on the type of scan and patient characteristics

• Thoroughly explain the process and procedure to patients to alleviate anxiety and facilitate patient cooperation. Monitor patients during a procedure to detect excessive anxiety

• Conducts examinations with regard to the patient’s age, medical condition, or other special requirements

• Screen patients and any visitors outside of the magnetic field before the exam for any precautions or contraindications pertaining to the exam (i.e. Pacemaker, claustrophobia, metallic objects in or on their body)

• Routinely prepares exams for interpretation by the radiologist to include correct identification and film processing, adequate clinical history, and previous exams for comparison if available

• Performs other duties as required and assigned by Manager, including schedule changes and travel to office locations as assigned

Skills and Requirements

• High school diploma (college degree preferred)

• Graduate of accredited MRI program

• At least 1 year of MRI experience

• CPR certified

• NC state license/certification (as required)

• Strong knowledge of MRI procedures, anatomy, and safety protocols • ARRT registration preferred - flexible
