    Job Summary

    Clean carpets and other similar surfaces on campus – using a truck mounted or other portable carpet cleaning system. Cleaning may include but is not limited to the cleaning of nylon, olefin, wool, and other carpet types. This may also include the cleaning of upholstery in various areas of campus. Responsible to maintain and perform maintenance of all equipment used and to insure the proper and safe use of all equipment assigned to them. Ensure that all safety and common work practices are followed and to become an IICRC certified carpet cleaning technician.

    Responsibilities

    1. Performs preventative maintenance on machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, and pumps in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications.

    2. May make work assignments for maintenance and follows up on assignments to ensure that work was completed properly and on time.

    3. May train maintenance workers on specific standards, procedures and policies to be followed.

    4. May review time cards for crew and prepares time sheets for submission to department.

    5. Indicate the principle duties and responsibilities performed in this job by giving a detailed account of all tasks that are involved in carrying out this position.

    6. Estimate the average percentage of time spent performing each task.

    7. Arrange these tasks in order of importance with the most important task listed first and the least important task listed last. Be specific in defining the tasks.

    8. Equipment check and maintenance

    9. Machine belts check and maintenance

    10. Impeller check and maintenance

    11. Main air filter check and maintenance

    12. Water lines and clamps check and maintenance

    13. Wand filters/connections check and maintenance

    A valid driver’s license is required.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Four years relevant work experience in the applicable trades areas or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience); demonstrated knowledge of national, state and local building codes and standards; ability to read wiring diagrams, blueprints, and be able to make mechanical sketches and drawings; and demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills required. Requires lifting and transporting heavy objects. A valid Utah Driver’s license may be required.

     

    Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.

     

    Preferences

     

    A valid Utah driver’s license is required. ; be able to be on your feet for 810 hours a day; work in in-climate weather conditions; and perform repeated tasks.

    I do not need them to have prior experience as we will train if they show the proper attitude and are willing to learn.
