The Scientific Compute Platform team supports compute platforms used throughout R&D. This includes developing high-level data strategies, supporting cloud and on-premise computing, advising and enforcing application security, providing internal tools to developers, and validating software systems.

What You’ll Do:

With the help of a mentor, depending on your experience and interests, you will do one or more of:

+ Work with the Scientific Compute Platform team to support researchers and data scientists

+ Root-cause and resolve end-user issues as they arise

+ Monitor and analyze Kubernetes cluster efficiency and propose methods of improvement

+ Examine, test, and recommend tools for advanced cluster management, monitoring, alerting, and orchestration

+ Work with data scientists to improve the end-user experience

What Skills You Need:

One or more of:

+ Good in-depth understanding of an operating system, either Windows or Linux.

+ Experience in AWS cloud services.

+ Understanding of Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform)

+ Experience with GitLab or git in general

+ Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, or containerization

+ Good problem-solving skills

+ Familiarity with cybersecurity, including authentication, authorization, and application security
