+ Position Summary:
The Unit Director coordinates and directs the clinical and other unit activities necessary to provide quality patient care. Provides leadership to facilitate staff development and productive working relationships within the health care team.
+ Qualifications:
A. Education:
Holds a current Texas permit or license as a Registered Nurse. BSN required. Master's preferred.
B. Training and Experience:
+
+ + Current BLS through the American Heart Association required within 90 days of hire
+ Full time status. Minimum of 3 years full-time R.N. experience. Prefer minimum 1 year leadership experience in a defined leadership role.
+ Successful completion of general and nursing orientation within 3 months of hire.
+ Completion of the following competencies within 3 months of hire or transfer:
+ Leadership: professional standards, ensure policies and procedures are incorporated into quality care, delegation, decision-making, conflict management
+ Facilitate development of nursing personnel

+ Unusual Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
+ Ability to lift and move weighing up to 50 pounds using proper body mechanics.
+ Sustained standing, walking, stooping, bending
+ Ability to work in a high stress environment.
+ Job involves exposure to potential infectious diseases
