Description We are looking for a skilled Payroll & Benefits Specialist to join our team in California. This Contract-to-permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to manage payroll and benefits for a growing organization with over 1,100 employees across six states. The role is primarily focused on payroll operations, with additional responsibilities in benefits administration. This position requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is ready to contribute to the success of a dynamic team.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and execute full-cycle payroll processes for multi-state operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

• Manage payroll for over 1,100 employees, including W2 and hourly staff across six states.

• Supervise two payroll analysts and provide guidance to strengthen payroll operations.

• Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollment, coordination, and communication of benefit packages.

• Utilize Paycom for payroll processing while preparing for future system transitions.

• Collaborate with the HR department to address payroll and benefits-related inquiries.

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.

• Analyze payroll data using Excel functions such as pivot tables and VLOOKUP to generate reports and insights.

• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to payroll and benefits.

• Support international expansion efforts by aligning payroll and benefits processes with global standards. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll and benefits management.

• Proven expertise in full-cycle payroll and multi-state payroll operations.

• Familiarity with Paycom, ADP Workforce Now, or Workday systems.

• Strong Excel skills, including proficiency in pivot tables and VLOOKUP.

• Experience managing payroll for large organizations with over 500 employees.

• Knowledge of benefits administration and compensation practices.

• Ability to lead and mentor payroll team members.

• Excellent organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.
