Description

We are looking for a skilled Application Security Engineer to join our team in Carrollton, Texas. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the security of our cloud-based applications and infrastructure, partnering with development and IT teams to embed security measures throughout the software development lifecycle. This Contract-to-Permanent position offers the opportunity to drive security innovation while working in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the implementation of the Application Security program, providing guidance and governance to engineering teams.

• Introduce and manage application security tools, ensuring flexibility and compatibility with diverse technologies.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to establish security metrics and reporting systems to guide strategic decisions.

• Provide mentorship to developers, translating security risks into actionable solutions for technical and non-technical audiences.

• Ensure vulnerabilities are identified and resolved before deployment, offering expert guidance on remediation processes.

• Track and manage vulnerabilities, empowering developers with secure coding practices.

• Work closely with Application Development and Security teams to integrate security at every stage of the development process.

• Automate security measures within the DevOps pipeline to safeguard applications and APIs.

• Assess third-party services for potential security risks and recommend appropriate actions.

Requirements • At least 5 years of experience in Application Security, with a proven track record of securing web, mobile, or cloud applications.

• Strong knowledge of application layer attacks and defense mechanisms, including common vulnerabilities like SQL injection and broken access control.

• Expertise in security tools such as SAST, DAST, and Software Composition Analysis.

• Comprehensive understanding of cloud and web vulnerabilities, as well as cryptographic techniques.

• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash, with experience in process automation.

• Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and embedding security controls early in the development lifecycle.

• Ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve security goals.

• Strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure technology stacks and network configurations. Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.®
