Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Millbury, Massachusetts. In this role, you will manage accounting operations for real estate properties, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with industry standards. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset to support property performance and organizational goals.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee accounting processes for commercial properties, including managing accounts payable/receivable and maintaining the general ledger.

• Conduct account analysis and reconcile annual expenses to ensure financial accuracy.

• Record prepaid expenses and update corresponding schedules.

• Review and assign appropriate codes to invoices for individual properties and entities.

• Prepare financial statements and reports on a monthly, quarterly, and year-end basis.

• Analyze financial statements, budgets, and variances to provide actionable insights for property performance.

• Monitor daily cash balances and ensure tenant billing processes are accurate and efficient.

• Collaborate on strategic plans to optimize property value and performance.

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies through effective teamwork and communication.

• Assist management with special projects and tasks as needed.

Requirements

+ Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field

+ 2+ years of GL accounting…real estate/property management highly preferred

+ Experience with accounting software…Appfolio a plus

+ Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

+ Experience with journal entries, accounting principles, and AP/AR

+ Good tenure with limited movement
